Ten UI Students won international exchange programme in Spain

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, was full of gratitude when he received 10 students who had been selected to participate in a 5-month Erasmus K+107 Exchange Programme at the University of Jaen, Spain, on Tuesday, 03 September 2019 in his office.

The students comprising four undergraduates and one postgraduate student each from the Department of Social and Environmental Forestry and Department of Civil Engineering respectively are billed to travel to Spain to attend the 5 months fully sponsored programme with each students receiving a sum of C4250.00 and a return ticket flight. The students from the Department of Social and Environmental Forestry are Oluwajuwon, Tomiwa Victor; Adegoke, Temitayo Rebecca; Dada, Damilola Daniel; Alade, Afees Abidemi and Ohwo, Oghenekevwe Abigail. From the Department of Civil Engineering: Muniru, Yakub Adeyemi; Arinze, Lexy Chiweye, Abede, Yahya, Daniel Ifeoluwa, Oguntoye, Kunle Sunday and Caleb Oluwole. These students were selected based on transparency and equity using the highest CGPA scores.
The DVC charged them to seize every opportunity available to acquire and increase their knowledge and to be a good ambassador of the University in Spain. He advised them to remain focused on the reason for their sojourn and not allow unnecessary distraction that could come as a result of a change in the environment. He warned them to resist any form of temptation and keep off from any act that may bring the University of Ibadan to disrepute. He cautioned them to always make good choices in life as every choice has its consequence.

The Contact Person for Erasmus Programme in UI, Prof Busuyi Agbeja, in his goodwill message to the participants expressed his pleasure to have seen UI successfully shortlisted for the exchange programme. He made a note that tenacity and focus were important ingredients for success.
Present at the occasion were Prof. Opeyemi Ajewole and Dr Matthew Ayininuola
