VISIT BY THE GOVERNING BOARD OF NATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (NADDC) TO THE VICE-CHANCELLOR, PROFESSOR ABEL IDOWU OLAYINKA IN HIS OFFICE ON TUESDAY, 28 AUGUST, 2018

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, FAS, on Tuesday, 28 August 2018 hosted the Governing Board of National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) in his office.

In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof A.I. Olayinka, ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof A.A. Aderinto appreciated the team for the support given to the University of Ibadan is one of the three institutions that benefited from their benefactions in 2017. He assured the team of the resolve of the University in ensuring that the equipment is being put to good use.

He said the process of establishing the Automotive Engineering Programme in the Faculty of Technology has reached an advanced stage and very soon UI would start admitting students. The acting VC coveted the continued support of the body in providing necessary equipment in order to properly train employable graduate in automotive engineering when it is eventually established.

Earlier in his speech, Dr. Nankin Bagudu, Chairman, NADDC, explained that the team was in the UI to inspect the equipment supplied to UI in 2017 to aid learning for the development of automobile industry in Nigeria. He explained further that the gesture was aimed at improving the quality of automobile engineering in Nigeria and to inspire the creation of a department for automobile engineering in UI,

Other members of the visiting NADDC included Engineer B.E. Obayi, Mr. R.B. Salawu, Dr. L.A. Isah, Mr. David Oyetunji, Engineer A.O. Oyetade, Barr. A.T. Daniel, Mr. S.A. Adepoju, and Mr. Eni Ozeshe.

Present at the occasion were the Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Faluyi; University Librarian, Dr. Helen Komolafe-Opadeji ably represented by the Ag. Deputy Librarian, Dr. Emmanuel Ajala; Dean, Student Affairs, Prof A.T.P. Ajuwape; Dean, Faculty of Technology, Prof K. Ogedengbe; Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Prof Oluleke Oluwole; Director, Special Duties, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof M.O. Oyewole; Director, University Advancement Centre, Mr. A.A. Adeosun and the Director, Public Communication, Mr. O.M. Oladejo.
