SIGNING CEREMONY OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN AND DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY ON FRIDAY, 10 AUGUST, 2018.

The University of Ibadan Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, FAS, today Friday, 10 August 2018 received a team from the Delta State University, Abraka in his office. The team was led on the visit by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof Augustine Emunah Anigala to discuss a proposed partnership between both institutions.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof A.I. Olayinka welcomed the initiative of the Vice-Chancellor, Delta State University to collaborate with the University of Ibadan in areas that will be beneficial to both institutions through inter-disciplinary research among others. He said, UI being a public university, the partnership will be on humanities and research involving both staff and students. He assured them of the cooperation the institution will receive from the University of Ibadan.

While presenting their views, Prof Augustine E. Anigala and his partner, Director, Centre for Research and International Programmes (CRIP), Delta State University, Abraka said University of Ibadan was chosen as the preferred institution for partnership because the Vice-Chancellor of Delta State University, Prof Peretomode who graduated from the Department of Agricultural Science, for his masters and doctoral programmes as well as Prof Anigala who graduated from the Department of Theatre Arts, for masters and doctoral programmes, University of Ibadan, had a good understanding of the quality of researches and scholarships available at the University of Ibadan. They also believed and were convinced that the partnership will benefit both institutions and the students, and the Delta State University will be able to gracefully benefit from the international connections of the University of Ibadan.

Other notable personalities at the occasion were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof A.A. Aderinto; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships), Prof. Olanike K. Adeyemo; University Librarian, Dr. Helen Komolafe-Opadeji; Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Faluyi, ably represented by Deputy Registrar, Legal, Mr. A.S. Ajayi; Dean, Postgraduate School, Prof J.O. Babalola; Director, Office of International Programmes, Prof A.B. Ekanola; Deputy Dean, Student Affairs, Prof I.O. Abiona and the Director, Directorate of Public Communication, Mr. O.M. Oladejo.
