BRITISH COUNCIL FUTURE LEADERS CONNECT AWARD TO UI LAW GRADUATE: Elizabeth Chinenyenwa Nwarueze

Elizabeth Chinenyenwa Nwarueze, 2018 First Class Graduate of Law and Best Graduating Student of the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan has been selected by the British Council for the prestigious Future Leaders Connect Award.

Elizabeth applied to the British Council for the Future Leaders Connect Programme, an opportunity to contribute to policy-making in the United Nations alongside policy leaders from all over the world. She did not expect to make it to the top 11 out of 7000 applications in Nigeria but she did. She is naturally very excited about this.

Last Saturday, 20th July 2019 was the final policy pitching event to pick Nigeria's five representatives out of the 11. She pitched on Women Participation in Governance in Nigeria and she made made it.

In October this year, Elizabeth shall fly Nigeria's flag at the UK Parliament, contributing substantially to international policy-making.

Till date, Elizabeth is the youngest to ever represent Nigeria in this groundbreaking event organized by the British Council. And she is very grateful to the platform and preparation the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships) gave her which went a long way towards her winning this prestigious award. She acknowledges with pride that she attended all the programs preparing students of the University of Ibadan for a bright future and she found them deeply useful.

I am sure you will like to join me in congratulating Miss Elizabeth Chinenyenwa Nwarueze for this honour and distinction.

We wish her every success in her highly promising career.
