ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE: UI STUDENTS SHINE IN QUIZATHON & CAMPUS CHALLENGE
Three students from the University of Ibadan (UI) have demonstrated academic excellence by securing top positions in two prestigious competitions—Distinction Quizathon 2.0 and National Campus Challenge organized by FlexiSAF.
In the Distinction Quizathon, a rigorous AI-powered competition that attracted over 6,000 participants from over 200 tertiary institutions across Nigeria, UI students showcased their intellectual prowess. Daniel Adesanya, a 500 Level Petroleum Engineering student emerged 1st place, earning a ₦1,000,000 cash prize proving his mastery of critical thinking and problem-solving. Meanwhile, Barnabas Oluwasegun a 200 level Medicine and Surgery student secured 3rd place, earning a ₦500,000 cash prize for his remarkable performance.

In the 1st ever National Campus Challenge also organized by FlexiSAF, in collaboration with the Committee of Directors of ICT in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions (COMDICT-NTI) held on May 10, 2025, Abayomi Elijah Olutayo, a 200 level Medicine and Surgery student also made a strong impact, securing 2nd place in the Overall Best 3 Category. The challenge earned him a ₦150,000 cash prize, further reinforcing UI’s dominance in academic contests.

The National Campus competition certificate was received by the Director of ITeMS on behalf of the University of Ibadan, flanked by the Distinction Quizathon winners at the conclusion of the annual conference of COMDICT-NTI which held at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja between May 12 and May 13, 2025.
