VISIT BY THE OYO STATE EFCC ZONAL HEAD TO THE UI VICE CHANCELLOR, PROFESSOR ABEL IDOWU OLAYINKA IN HIS OFFICE ON WEDNESDAY, 10 APRIL, 2019

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Idowu Olayinka, FAS, today, Wednesday, 10 April, 2019 received the Oyo State Zonal Head, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Friday Ebelo, in his office. The Zonal Head who was posted to Oyo State January 2019 was in the University of Ibadan on a courtesy visit.

In his speech, the Zonal Head informed the VC of the new trend in crime among the adolescence and a need to dissuade the youth from going into it. He also requested for collaboration with the University on crime prevention through awareness creation on the University radio station, Diamond 101.1 FM. He stressed the need to provide necessary information on crime prevention.

The Vice-Chancellor in his response thanked the Zonal Head for the visit. He said EFCC job is a difficult national assignment and so should be supported by all stakeholders in order for them to succeed. He promised the Zonal Head of a 30 minutes slot on Diamond 101.1FM and also invited the EFCC to 2018/2019 Orientation Programme for the purpose of educating the new intake on crime prevention.

Members of his team were Mr Richard Adejumo, Mr Jide Jegede, Mr Tokunbo Odebiyi, Mr Polycarp Saga and Mr Tokunbo Odebiyi.

Present at the occasion were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof Adebola Ekanola; Director, University Advancement Centre, Mr Debo Adeosun; Station Manager, 101.1 FM, Mr Paul Emokhare; Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Mr Oluwole Dada and the Director, Directorate of Public Communication, Mr. O.M. Oladejo.
