There is an increasing awareness on health issue, UI VC
The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, has opined that there is a noticeable increasing awareness on health matters since the breakout of the Covid-19 pandemic. He made this assertion while commissioning the Physiotherapy Clinic extension of University Health Services (Jaja Clinic) on Monday, 13 July 2020. Prof Olayinka expressed his delight at seeing the project which has been decided and approved several years back came to fruition.
According to the
VC, the execution of the project was evidence of the commitment of the present administration at providing appropriate attention to the health needs of the University community as much as possible.
The VC commended the Director, University Health Services, Dr Aderonke Ajav and her team for their sacrifices and devotion to duty. He assured them of the continued support of the University Management.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Director, University Health Services, Dr Ajav gave an account of the efforts of the past administration and expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders for their numerous inputs that led to the success of the project.
Present at the occasion were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof Kayode Adebowale; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof Adebola Ekanola; Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Faluyi ably represented by the Deputy Registrar, Distance Learning Centre, Mrs. Francisca Ayodele; Bursar, Dr. Micheal Alatise; Director,
works and Maintenance, Engr Olufemi Adetolu; Deputy Registrar (Vice-Chancellor’s Office), Mr. Oluwole Dada; and the Director, Directorate of Public Communication, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo.
