FRSC seeks robust collaboration with UI
The Federal Road Safety Corps is seeking for a closer collaboration with the University of Ibadan with the aim of achieving the objectives for which the Road Safety was established. This was considered achievable through creation of awareness using various media available, organize training for all strata of road users in a bid to ensure safety on our roads as well as establishing a Licensing Centre within the premises of the University campus to take care of the community. These expressions were made by the Oyo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mrs Uche Winifred Chukwurah, fsi when she paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka, FAS, on Wednesday, 18 September 2019 in his office. The courtesy call was also meant to familiarize herself as the Oyo Sector Commander, with relevant stakeholders within the Sector, a position she recently occupied through posting.
Receiving the Sector Commander, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Kayode Adebowale, mni, who stood in for the VC, thanked his guest for the visit and considered the timely visit as a reflection of the existing cordial relationship between FRSC and the University Management.
Among her entourage were Mrs Modupe Adefope, Mr Wale Odekunle, Mr Kolawole Akinsinde, Mrs Rita Omowa and Arc Adedolapo Adediran. Present at the occasion were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof Adebola Ekanola; UI Special Marshal, Unit 47 members: Prof Olajire Fagbola, Coordinator, Prof Christopher Agulanna, Mr. Olaoluwa Olopade, Mr. Ayodele Opadeji, Mr. Akinrinola Oladele and Mr. Bamidele Fatope; Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Oluwole Dada; Director, Directorate of Public Communication, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo and the Station Manager, Diamond 101.1 FM Mr. Paul Emokhare.
