UI Nelfund Support

Instructions on Payment through e-Wallet:

STEPS TO UTILISE THE APPROVED NELFUND STUDENT LOAN ON THE REGISTRATION PORTAL:

  1. Login to the portal with your usual credentials (Username and Password).
  2. On the dashboard, click the wallet menu to view your approved amount and the transaction details.
  3. Click "My Fees" - Categories of fees will display.
  4. Click the button beside the fee option you are paying and click "Proceed".
  5. Confirm the correctness of your payment and select "Pay with Wallet".
  6. After successful payment, go to "Fees", then select "Transactions" to confirm the status of your payment.
  7. If successful, click the view button under Actions for payment details. A PDF version can also be downloaded.
  8. Repeat steps 3 – 7 for other payments.
  9. If there is a shortfall in the amount credited by NELFUND, the balance should be paid through the portal, but choose "Pay with Remita".

Welcome to the UI support Desk on the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). This page is in addition to the support provided by NELFUND on their website. You will find answers to questions that were asked during the interactive session of NELFUND with UI students on August 16, 2024, and other student loan questions:

  • Can I opt out?
    Answer: If your loan has not been approved.
  • Does the loan cover the entire fees?
    Answer: 100% of tuition fees provided is paid.
  • Is loan payment mandatory before leaving this country?
    Answer: No, it is not.
  • What do you do when you’re approved, and no upkeep is received by you?
    Answer: If you apply and it is pending for too long, please reach out.
  • Can students apply without an ID Card?
    Answer: Yes, they can. The only requirement is the application number.
  • Is the loan one-off or annual?
    Answer: Annual, the only requirement is the application.
  • If I applied successfully without a stipend, can I reapply for just the stipend?
    Answer: No, it does not work for now.
