Prof. F.Y. OkunmadewaProfessor Foluso Okunmadewa joined the staff of the Department in 1989 after having successfully completed his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees from the same Department. He rose to the rank of Professor in October 2002. He has taught courses in macro economics, farm management, resource economics, agricultural marketing and commodity trade, financial management, research methodology, project appraisal and planning, research methodology at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Professor Okunmadewa’s research interests include poverty analysis, food security, rural institutions, welfare and development economics. Professor Okunmadewa has published his research findings in various local and international journals and in books, technical reports and monographs. He has over 70 publications to his credit –most of it on poverty analysis. Professor Okunmadewa has successfully supervised 8 Ph.D and over 40 M.Sc. candidates.

Professor Okunmadewa has received funding support for his work from such institutions/agencies as the University of Ibadan Senate Research Grant, University of Ibadan Post Graduate School Fund, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Development (FMAWR&RD), National Planning Commission (NPC), Federal Ministry of Environment, African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), International Service for National Agricultural Research (ISNAR), World Bank, European Union (EU), Department for International Development (DFID) of the UK, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Professor Okunmadewa has a very rich public/international service experience. He has provided consultancy services to such institutions as the NPC. Fed. Min. of Environment, FAO, ISNAR, UNDP, World Bank, DFID and EU.

 Professor Okunmadewa is married with children.
