The University of Ibadan was among the Nigerian universities selected by WIPO to host a TISC in 2022, but the Center had not been formally inaugurated until now. The successful establishment and commissioning of the Center were made possible through the sustained commitment and support of the University Management.
Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) are established to bridge innovators from mind to market by providing access to tools, expertise, and resources that transform ideas into market-ready products and services.
TISCs help researchers, inventors, and entrepreneurs unlock their innovative potential and effectively protect, manage, and commercialize intellectual property (IP).
Located in universities, research institutions, and business support organizations, TISCs are designed to promote accessibility and collaboration. WIPO supports their development globally through training programmes, specialized platforms and tools, learning resources, publications, and networking opportunities, thereby strengthening national and regional innovation ecosystems.
