UI CONSTITUTES EIBIC PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE

The University of Ibadan has constituted a 6-member committee to implement the newly developed Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Incubation Certification (EIBIC) curriculum on Thursday, the 13th of August, 2026.

The EIBIC curriculum introduced by the Federal Ministry of Education was launched by the Honorable Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa on the 27th of March, 2026. The curriculum forms part of a national strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial capacity of graduates, fostering innovation-driven enterprises, and enhancing the commercialisation of research outputs within Nigerian universities. University of Ibadan has been selected as one of the 14 pilot universities for the implementation of the programme which is expected to commence at the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic session.

The committee is being chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale, FAS, mni. Other members of the committee include; Prof. Peter Olapegba (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration), Prof. Abiodun Ayodele (Director, Academic Planning), Prof. Olufade Onifade (Director, Distance Learning Centre), Prof. Sherifat A. Aboaba (Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation) and Mrs. Abiodun A. Alao (Director, Information Technology and Media Services.
