DISCLAIMER – MISREPRESENTATION OF IDENTITY

For several weeks, a Facebook advertisement which misrepresents the identity of the Provost of the College of Medicine, has been circulating on the social media misinforming the general public about her involvement in the discovery of a product purportedly recommended for the treatment and cure of joint diseases.

She had been consistently contacted by family members, friends and colleagues about the product which she knows nothing about. Several efforts were made to report the misrepresentation to Facebook but the efforts proved abortive as the product still trends.

The unfortunate advertisement bears the picture of the Provost, the logo of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and the Provost’s name which is however not written in full.

The Provost has stated categorically that she was never a part of this scam and there has never been a time that she promoted a product of this kind. This is a gross misrepresentation of her identity and that of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.

This disclaimer is brought to the attention of the University of Ibadan Community and the general public.
