“THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING A CULT MEMBER ARE VERY GRIEVOUS,” SAYS PROF. LABEODAN

Prof. Helen Labeodan, the Chairperson of the Anti-cultism Campaign Committee of the University of Ibadan Centre for Social Orientation (CenSo) has warned secondary school students about the grievous consequences of cult membership.

During an anti-cultism sensitization visit to Ikolaba High School in Ibadan, Professor Labeodan emphasized that joining a cult involves committing a crime, which leads to serious legal repercussions.

She highlighted various consequences of cultism, including missing lectures, losing focus, staying out late in secluded areas, health issues from consuming illegal substances, and the potential for violent clashes that could result in untimely deaths.

She advised the students to critically consider the grievious consequences of cultism and never allow themselves to be introduced or lured into cultism or any other anti-social behaviour that could lead them astray.

Other members of the campaign committee also counseled the students not to engage in anything that would hinder their dreams but to follow the correct path to achieve greatness.

The students were further advised to desist from any unlawful act that would prevent them from becoming what God has created them to be.
