It was another encomium galore on the late Dean OF Arts, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Prof. Olu-Owolabi by the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the institution, Chief Oluwole Olanipekun, OFR, SAN, FCIarb, when he recently led some Principal Officers of the University on a condolence visit to the family of the deceased scholar on the institution’s campus.
Chief Olanipekun said Prof. Olu Owolabi would be remembered by many great things that he did, especially his love for the University.
In a statement by the University’s Director of Public Communication, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo, quoted Chief Olanipekun as writing in the condolence register “Even in death, the reports and testimonies about Professor Olu-Owolabi are good and excellent to the effect that he was extra-ordinarily brilliant, diligent, committed and hard-working and always positively restless, pursuing lofty goals and objectives. He achieved so much within a short span of life. May his soul rest in peace.”
Aged 51, the late Professor of Philosophy died on Sunday, 16 September, 2012 and would be buried on Friday 28 September, 2012 at Oke-Ede Quarters, Igbogila, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
