DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS


Dr. Taiwo Awoyemi holds a B.Agric. (Agric. Econ.) (Ife), M.Sc. Agric. Econ. (Ife), Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Ife), and PhD Agric. Econs (Ibadan). He joined the department of Agricultural Economics, University of Ibadan, as a lecturer in 1995.

He teaches, Agricultural Marketing, Agribusiness and is interested in Gender studies. He has graduated one PhD students and more than 40 Msc. students.

He has published scientific articles, monographs and chapters in books at both local and international levels. He has up to 21 published works. He has won several academic awards which include: CODESTRA Small Scale Grant for thesis writing, 1996, Visiting research Student, International Institute for Tropical Agriculture, (IITA) Ibadan, 1997; The Graduate Studies Capacity Building Programme, Laureate, Center for Econometric and Allied Research, University of Ibadan, 1999; Research Grant Fellow: African Economic Research Consortium, (AERC) Nairobi, Kenya, 2001; Research Grant Fellow: African Rural Policy Analysis Network (ARPAN), 2002; Short Term Sabbatical Fellow, World Institute for Development Economic Research, (WIDER), Helsinki, Finland, 2004; MacArthur Foundation Grant Fellow under Staff Development Programme, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, 2005; Research Fellow; Poverty and Economic Policy (PEP) Departement d’economic Universite Laval Quebec, Canada, 2007.

Dr. Awoyemi is married with children.
