The Patent and Design Registry, Commercial Law Department,  Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Abuja, gave the Centre for Intellectual Property Protection and Commercialization (CIPPAC),  University of Ibadan, Ibadan an award of recognition for its role in promoting Patents and Designs Right in Nigeria. The award was given on the 25th of April,  2024, as part of the elaborate programmes held by the Ministry to commemorate the world Intellectual Property Week. The grand finale will be held on the 26th of April,  2024, which is globally recognised as the World IP Day. The Ministry recognised CIPPAC as the centre among all others in Nigeria with the highest number of Patents and Designs filing applications and certification. CIPPAC has also been involved in IP awareness campaigns at both national and international levels. It is a well-deserved honour to the centre and the University of Ibadan.
